Meet the Top 50 Finalists for the ONE® Canada Condom Wrapper Design Contest
In Snow Pants or No Pants

In July 2020, ONE® challenged Canadians to help create the next ONE® Canada Condom Wrapper Collection, with an array of exciting prizes on the line. And now, after reviewing hundreds of submissions from across the country, the panel of guest judges has spoken and the Top 50 Finalists were announced for public voting at: onecondoms.ca/contest.

Design submissions for this year’s contest included clever puns and double entendres, such as “Protect Your Equipment” and “Let’s Zambone” (hockey references), “Let’s Get Sticky” (maple syrup), “Have You Seen My Wood?” (beaver) and “Let’s Hiber-mate” (nods to Canadian wildlife).  There were also a number of submissions featuring traditional indigenous cultural representations, popular Canadian sports and hobbies and iconic natural landscapes.

“Across the country the pandemic has illustrated the continued need to engage youth on health promotion efforts that prioritize themselves and their shared community. Not only is this contest crucial in its message of sexual health, it is timely,” said Contest Guest Judge Rene Ross, Executive Director and educator with the Sexual Health Centre for Cumberland County. “The ONE® Condoms Design Contest engages, inspires, and encourages youth to showcase their creativity while challenging stigmas often associated with sexual health.”

The finalists were selected based on how well their design uniquely celebrates Canadian love, life, culture and history. Now that the contest judges have voted, ONE® is encouraging the Canadian public to help select the final winners. The public voting will be available at onecondoms.ca/contest through December 31st.

There will be a "Grand Prize Canada Winner” and "Runners-up." The panel of guest judges will also select “Regional Winners,” based on five designated geographical regions in Canada. ONE staff will select additional favorites called “Staff Picks.” Each of the winners receive a cash prize, a year’s supply of condoms featuring their winning artwork, an artist profile at onecondoms.ca, and a donation of up to 10,000 condoms to their Canadian health organization of choice. In all, ONE® will donate tens of thousands of condoms to various Canadian organizations dedicated to promoting sexual health education and outreach.

ONE® was founded in 2004 with the core belief that if you put interesting and engaging artwork on condom wrappers, it helps start a conversation about the use of condoms and safer sex. ONE®’s signature, circular condom wrappers feature hundreds of different designs and unique design collections.
