Appalachian State University’s Wellness and Prevention Services hosted a “Wet N Wild” Western-themed Project Condom fashion show, bringing together student designers to take condom couture to a whole new level. Held during Homecoming Week in partnership with Campus Activities and ONE® Condoms, the show blended creativity, community, and safer sex education as students hit the runway in bold, Western-inspired looks crafted entirely from (you guessed it) condoms donated by ONE®.
A total of five student groups showcased their designs live on the evening of Wednesday, October 1st, at Plemmons Student Union showing that when it comes to safer sex, these cowpokes know how to wrap before they ride.

Participating groups included:
-
The Appalachian (Campus Newspaper)
-
Alpha Phi & Phi Theta Delta
-
Delta Sigma Phi & Alpha Omicron Pi
-
Student Government Association
-
Chi Omega & Kappa Sigma
A panel of five judges from across the university and local community scored designs using a special SHINE rubric developed by event organizers Evan Foster and Justin Parks to highlight creativity, design, and safer sex messaging.
Between the condom couture looks, an internal condom demo, and a lighthearted “Woody Race” condom application challenge, the night was filled with laughter and learning. ONE® Condoms and OASIS also hosted outreach tables, offering free condoms, educational materials, and giveaways for students.

To top it off, winners received prize baskets filled with ONE® goodies, making the evening both memorable and meaningful.
Student event coordinator and ONE® College Ambassador Evan Foster shared:
“Our goal was to spread awareness about sexual health with FUN! We wanted to integrate it into Homecoming to strengthen campus partnerships—and it worked. The event was very well received, and even upper administration shared positive feedback.”
With creativity, collaboration, and confidence on full display, App State’s Project Condom: Wet n Wild show showed just how powerful student led education and community can be in sparking conversations about safer sex. Check out this fun video on Instagram, too!
ONE® Project Condom is a program we’ve hosted since 2008. ONE® partners with schools and organizations across the country to host condom couture fashion shows where all the garments are made out of condoms. The goal is to inspire conversations about safer sex in a fun, engaging, and artsy kind of way! Ready to host your own show? Learn more and apply for Project Condom here.
